Recently, several media outlets and social networks have been circulating information about a possible suspension of applications for the unfreezing of securities and assets blocked in Euroclear. Various dates for this alleged suspension have been mentioned—ranging from September 2025 to the end of the current year.

LINNIKOV & PARTNERS, which has been advising clients on asset unfreezing matters since 2022, does not possess any confirmed information regarding such changes in the operations of the Belgian Treasury. Moreover, just last week, one of the firm’s clients successfully submitted additional documents to the Belgian Ministry of Finance in person at the Treasury building.

Our partners in Belgium have also commented on the situation:
We are not aware of any rumors about a potential suspension of the application review process. Under Belgian administrative law, there is a principle of continuity of public services. It is highly unlikely that a minister or head of the department would publicly announce such a suspension, as this would create additional legal risks, including the possibility of challenging inaction on already submitted applications.”

Thus, as of now, there is no confirmed information about the cessation of application acceptance. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will promptly inform you of any changes in the asset unfreezing procedure. We advise clients and partners to rely only on official sources and verified information.
