WORLD ROAD ASSOCIATION WEBINAR ON THE ECONOMIC AND LEGAL CONSEQUENCES OF CORONAVIRUS IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

20.05.2020 a webinar was held at the site of the World Road Association, tackling the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the functioning of the construction industry in different countries. Alexander Linnikov and Anton Minakov prepared materials for the participants on the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic for infrastructure and road construction in Russia, forecasts for the development of the industry, and the possibility of recognizing the pandemic as a force majeure in the field of fulfillment of contractual obligations in construction. An important part of the webinar was presentation by Francesco Sciaudone on the legal aspects and consequences of the epidemic in the countries where Grimaldi Alliance is present, including Russia.
The World Road Association (PIARC, formerly the Permanent International Association of Road Congresses) is an international organization founded in 1909 with 122 member countries. The objectives of the association are to discuss issues related to roads and traffic, to develop and enforce international agreements on improving roads and traffic rules, both independently and in consultation with the UN or other international organizations.
