02/04/2024, the founder of L&P made a comment on the BUSINESS FM radio station about the termination of MIR cards in ATMs and POS terminals of most banks in Kyrgyzstan.

I often have to repeat that the refusal to service MIR cards is a direct consequence of the information campaign conducted by the US financial authorities, warning banks in third countries about the undesirability of cooperation with Russian colleagues and Russian clients. And this systematic activity, unfortunately, is bearing fruit. It cannot be excluded that other states will refuse to service Mir cards, but this will lead to the fact that it will be impossible to pay with MIR cards. Today, cash is a reliable payment method, as it was in the 1990s and early 2000s. Also, many Russian travelers and Russians living abroad use cards issued by banks of third countries. Many so—called relocators have already found effective alternatives to using Russian payment cards, and those who have not yet done so will have to do so,” says Alexander Linnikov.
