08/04/2024 the information portal of the Izvestia newspaper published a comment by Alexander Linnikov on the consequences of delaying transactions of credit institutions in Kazakhstan.

There are indeed problems with payments from Russia to Kazakhstan. The difficulties began back in January 2024 — it was then that the timing of operations increased significantly. Previously, payments were relatively fast, but now their processing takes two to three weeks. In particular, this is due to the fact that now foreign banks conduct in-depth compliance checks of client transactions to identify possible own “sanctions” risks and threats,” says Alexander Linnikov.
