19/03/2024, the founder of L&P made a comment on the economics news program of the RBC channel on the termination of MIR cards in ATMs and POS terminals of most banks in Armenia from March 30, 2024.

Obviously, this is a consequence of the warning about the possibility of using secondary sanctions ones by the US financial authorities. Although this is a political tool that is used extremely rarely, our partners in some countries, including Armenia, obviously assess this risk as quite significant. It is too early to judge what the coverage of MIR maps will eventually be, however, they continue to be serviced in a number of Russia-friendly states. We hope that the partners of Russian banks and the NSPC system in these countries will not succumb to persuasion, and will not listen to the threats of the US financial authorities, and will continue to cooperate with Russian banks,” says Alexander Linnikov.
